     Don’t know if it was the change of dates from the end of June to the end of April, but comparing this year to last, we added more than a dozen cooks! Outstanding! Ya’ll just keep on bring in those new cooks - they’ll love you for it - just like we do!

     The Northern Chapter of the Central Texas Tolbert Chili Group was well represented with Jimmy Goodson coming down from Alvarado and Russ and Stacey Stateham of N. Richland Hills making the journey with their brand new 5^th wheel....  Stacey was conducting tours, and Wowzers! That thing even has an electric fireplace in the livingroom and a pop-up flat screen TV with two recliners and a couch rounding out the sitting arrangement.   Roughing it in style.

      Our most sincere appreciation goes to Teri Hamilton for all the wonderful handmade trophies - everything from the cut granite blocks to embroidered aprons, literally everything got her special touch, and it showed. Thanks also to Billy and Kathy Nolte, and Laura Hall for running the judging and keeping things straight. Not an easy task. The scores were close and there were many tie breakers conducted, so judging was a wee bit complicated and took a little longer to complete. It’s because we all cook GREAT chili - just another reason why the CTTCG rocks!

     Thanks to our work horses, Terry Wright, Janet Matthews, Debbi Tucker and Ron Faulstich who are always ready to lend a hand and pitch in where needed.  We kinda of Shanghai'd her, but Cherie Schuh did a great job of recording all the winner's information for us, and we really appreciate it.  A very special thank you to Krissy Slanco and Candice Britton (a.k.a. Teri Hamilton’s daughters) for being our "trophy girls" during the awards announcements.

Looked like Hollywood with these beautiful young ladies and their dazzling smiles greeting the winners and offering congratulations. Candice and her fiancé John Beacham came all the way from Los Angeles for our cookoff - and then got put to work! Looked like they were having a darn good time too!
