Thanksgiving at Giddy Ups 11/19/2011

Congratulations to Mick Joplin of Camp Wood, 
Texas for his 1st Place Chili at the 7th Annual Thanksgiving at Giddy Ups on November 19th. Beating out 25 other cooks, Mick is now qualified to cook Behind the Store next November - almost an entire year from now!
We want to say thank you to Nancy Morgan and her staff at Giddy Ups for once again hosting this annual cookoff. They do a great job and always have the coldest beer in town. Nancy just loves her chiliheads too because Giddy Ups is host to several CASI events throughout the year too. When 
Ken Rodd of Hot Rodd Chili fame took the microphone in accepting his 2nd Place Chili trophy, he announced that he's a proud member of the "Giddy Ups Chili Group." Nursing his brain child along for the last couple of years, Ken has been instrumental in the planning and execution of the joint cookoff held in early September over the Labor Day weekend at Giddy Ups which unites Tolbert and CASI cooks in a Shoot Out. Details for the 2012 event will be announced early next year.
Competition went smooth, without any hitches and award ceremonies went so fast that there is now a new land speed record. Thank you to all of the volunteer judges, and to one lady in particular -Janet Matthews -
